Why are post cards a good way to get your message across? Post cards are a low cost advertising tool in a nice package. Simple and to the point, post cards give an overview of what you want to advertise and can spark the customer's interest on a small enticing format.
Many ideas can be expressed using post cards that may not come across as clearly on other forms of media. For instance, there is a smaller amount of limited space on post cards than say a brochure. This ensures that the information presented is clear and to the point. This also makes it possible to use a four color process when printing rather than a one or two color process (four color meaning full color and one color being black and white). The price is considerably less than printing a brochure or pamphlet in full color because less paper is used. The more colors an advertisement has on it the more someone may be drawn to look at it.
Post cards can also be mailed without spending excess money on envelopes.
Post cards, unless otherwise formatted, are designed to be mailed and have all of the necessary areas marked for postage. They also cost less to send through the mail, averaging about twenty-three cents per post card.
Post cards are also designed to grab the viewer's attention. Most post cards have a simple statement and picture on the front that entices the viewer to turn the card over, call the number, or log on to the internet for more information. Additional information can also be printed on the back of the card, which, due to limited space, must also be clear and to the point. This ensures that no unnecessary information bogs down the message of the card. Using post cards as advertising tools, has many advantages.
